In 1998 Julie joined the staff of the Community Foundation for the Fox Valley Region, where she worked with designated endowment funds, helped coordinate events, and provided administrative support for a new supporting organization, the Appleton Education Foundation (AEF), which formed in 1997.
Julie became the Appleton Education Foundation’s first full-time employee and executive director in 2005. She has enjoyed working with donors to grow the Foundation into a difference-maker for education in Appleton public schools and the broader community.
AEF primarily serves educators and students in the Appleton Area School District, a PreK-12 district with more than 16,000 students in 15 elementary schools, four middle schools, three high schools, 13 charter schools and one magnet school.
In its first 20 years, AEF has granted more than $4.4 million to support creative teaching and learning opportunities. AEF stewards more than 80 endowment and other charitable funds to enhance educational excellence.
