Penny has built a career spanning forty years with strong not-for-profit expertise in fundraising, donor cultivation, communication and leadership serving youth programming and public education. Previously she served as MI Communities that Care chair, Bellevue Boys & Girls Club Board VP of Fundraising, ABODA Auction Chair (14 years), King Country Camp Fire Boys & Girls Board, Eastside Camp Fire Board President, dive coach for Bellevue and Mercer Island school districts and a board member of Midlakes Swim League.
Penny served on the Mercer Island Schools Foundation board of directors for 6 years including 4 years as board president before becoming their Executive Director in 2000. She commits her time and passion to carrying on the exceptional work of the Mercer Island Schools Foundation founders and past board members. The Foundation and the Mercer Island community share a vision of world-class education for every student. Together, they have built a legacy of excellence for MI public schools. It is the strength of that collaboration between the Foundation, the MISD and the community that has brought incredible success - raising nearly $2 million dollars annually for students and teachers.
