Executive Director, Lee's Summit Education Foundation
With nearly 35 years of successful non-profit, project management, marketing, fundraising and sales experience, Sheryl Franke is passionate about being a community change agent through providing educational opportunities for students. Having worked in both business and educational arenas, Franke has a strong understanding of what drives community leaders in both sectors and creatively and effectively unites both worlds. Helping establish the Lee's Summit Educational Foundation (LSEF) 25 years ago, Franke developed and cultivated a new non-profit organization into a philanthropic model of success. Through a $6 million capital campaign, LSEF helped fund Great Beginnings Early Education Center and continues to annually guide community efforts to support educational initiatives. Franke is a graduate of the University of Central Missouri, UMKC’s Midwest Center for Nonprofit Leadership Fundraising Certification Program and serves on the board of directors for the National School Foundation Association. As a recognized leader in the non-profit field, Franke enjoys promoting philanthropy and donor engagement both regionally and nationally. During her free time, Franke treasures spending time with family and friends, mentoring young adults and trying new things…like flipping houses.
