Webinar: Engaging Your Community

You are here

Engagement is about more than resource development although that is a valuable byproduct. How do you engage your community so they know about the foundation, care about its success and the success of the students you serve? Invite some other board members to join you and learn how one successful education foundation is doing this through the use of a Community Engagement Committee, a successful Realtor Outreach Campaign, an Ambassador Program and more.

Lynn Juniel, Executive Director of the Bellevue Schools Foundation (WA) is a proud non-profit “lifer.” A former musician, she began her development career with symphony orchestras and arts organizations in the Chicago area. After a job opportunity brought her family to the Seattle suburbs, she was struck by the inequities of school funding. Using her development powers for good, she began volunteering with the Issaquah Schools Foundation, and later became their first Development Director, a position she held for eight years. Now in her third year as Executive Director of the Bellevue Schools Foundation, Lynn relishes the role school foundations play as education equalizers and innovators.
