Philanthropy within school foundations works best when it is valued as a priority for everyone involved with a school foundation, particularly foundation board members. However, board members often report that they don’t understand their fundraising role as a board member, or are reluctant (or resistant!) to actively fundraise on behalf of the foundation. In fact, national studies of nonprofit organizations suggest that over half of all board chairs and executive directors identify philanthropy as one of the most important areas for board improvement! What to do?
This dynamic, motivating webinar will illustrate a foundation board member’s fundraising responsibilities, the different roles they might play in the overall fundraising strategy and ways of communicating these expectations to board members as they’re being recruited. We’ll even give some tips on how a board member might want to explore their own values and vision in ways that help them personalize their fundraising messaging. There’s a role for everyone to play – without begging!
Please invite foundation board members and key staff members to attend the webinar!
